One of my undergrad classes was completely focused on sewing with and creating knitted material. I didn't mind sewing with knits but I really loved creating fabric and garments with a knitting machine. I would love to buy one, sigh maybe after I am completely done with school. But back to the bikini, for my final project we had the choice to sew a garment of knitted fabric or make one so I elected to create a teeny tiny bikini. I also created a ribbed knit bathing suit cover up. I would love to wear this but I used cotton yarn so I'm afraid it would sag and maybe even fall off, yikes! But I do love how it turned out and it's a great conversation piece. I hope you like it!
