Fashionably Late!

Ok you caught me I didn't blog yesterday (you could say I'm fashionably late)..... I ended up going to a cooking demonstration that I was very skeptical about.  I got a phone call saying I won a bridal package from when I attented a bridal show but it actually turned out to be a good getaway from Mt. Pleasant.  Anyways..... I will post pictures of the aprons my fiance and I won they are actually really cute!

I was having a hard time deciding what to wear because I can never decide when the appropriate time is to pull out the white pants.  However, they are so comfortable so I figured what the heck it was a beautiful day out and felt like Spring anyways!  Pictured here I am wearing white pants I got from Macy's for $19.99 (my grandma actually got them for me, she said they were essential) and a top from Rue 21 for $5.00.

I ended up pairing the outfit with some nude heals which I LOVE from Macy's.  They got a little uncomfortable towards the end of the day but at least I looked cute!  I suggest everyone own a pair of nude shoes because you can pair them with just about everything and they are very in!

Have a fashionable day!!!!!

Vintage Touch

If I had to describe my style in one word I would have to use Vintage. I think this outfit is the best of the past and present all rolled into one. I'm not really sure what else to say about this outfit except that I wore it on my teaching day so I wanted to look professional. The shoes are from Urban Outfitters and are my absolute favorites. They are a great mustard color and are very comfortable. The blazer is pretty new and is also one of my instant favorites, I've had to stop myself from wearing it everyday!
After taking style shots I realized my nails matched my phone cover perfectly!

Summer is that you?

So once again I'm behind on blogging.... needless to say grad school is getting the best of me.....These pics were taken a couple of days ago when the weather was oh so confusing and made me feel like summer was here!!!!!

This hat is from the Avon Mark line which I LOVE!!!!! It came with multiple bands in different colors and can be worn alone as well.  I decided to wear it alone here.  Its perfect for a day when your not really sure the temperature, but you definately have to be careful of the wind!

This is a close up of my bag that I bought at a Flea market while studying abroad in Paris!  I love it and don't care how bright it is! It makes me feel happy and reminds me of my amazing experience in the city of Paris where I hope to return soon!

The tank I am wearing under my sweater my mom got me for my birthday. I paired it with a sweater (which is one of my favorites). Its so versitille! Both were bought at Target. The ribbon is from the shorts I'm wearing. Originally these shorts were from Kohl's and I actually almost bought them there however about 3 months later I went to merchandise outlet and got them for 5 dollars! So happy I waited!

Shoes are from Charlotte Russe.
( My goal is to get better at the blog and have a post a day so keep track of me!)

Breezy Bliss

I'm a big fan of browsing your closet and just throwing on a bunch of things and making them work. This outfit is a prime example of that process for me. I picked out the shirt first and then kept adding things until I finally tied the bow on my belt and rushed out the door. The same thing happened with my hair, I curled my whole head fully intending to keep it down and then I realized how windy it was and decided to create this side pony twist thing. I'm pretty sure this process came from me playing dress up as a kid, put everything on and then make it work!

Outfit Details:
            • Leather Shorts: Kohl's
            • Shirt: Target
            • Necklaces: Assorted, two are from a thrift store!
            • Belt: Sash from a bridesmaid's dress
            • Shoes: Target

The scar on my ankle is super dark in this picture which is kinda a bummer, I constanly get these kind of scars from shaving my legs without my glasses on in the shower. I highly recommend against doing that!
Have a great rest of the day!

WEAR THE HAT!

Ok so I'm wearing a fedora. I was unsure of this outfit, I liked the hat but did it really match my dress? Was the casual, dressy thing not matching? After much questioning and a rousing "WEAR THE HAT WEAR THE HAT WEAR THE HAT!!!" comment from my friend Megan I finally decided upon actually wearing the hat. I borrowed it from my friend Claire and I borrowed her owl necklace as well. After heading out I found that a girl in a hat in a bar must be surprising because so many people commented, yelled and yes even touched my head! I promptly informed Claire she needed to wear a hat out EVERY night, it was an instant attention grabber. I am not usually a fan of this kind of attention, but as well as grabbing attention the hat also provided some kind of protection. I could almost hide myself from weirdos by sliding the hat down over my eyes and let me say this was a nice feeling. Overall I strongly suggest trying something new, something that you think is cute but maybe not for you. I am not going to run out and wear fedoras everyday, but it was a nice change of pace and let me play dress up for a night. I also got to snuggle Claire's bunny before we went out, can you believe how cute he is? And his name is Johnny Hopkins...I mean c'mon!

Sculputes and Sun

Wedges are my favorite kind of shoe. I am only 5' tall so I have to take any extra height I can get and wedges are also easy to walk in. This pair was purchased at Target last summer on sale and move well into this spring with the wedge trend emerging. I spiced up the simple tribal print dress with an olive cardigan and black elastic belt. I kept the accessories to a minimum since I wanted the shoes to shine. This outfit was an overall easy day look for working on campus. I also threw up my hair into an easy inside out french braid that kept my hair out of face.I also got to pose by some cool sculptures and the art building, not sure what the huge metal sculpture is supposed to be but I think it looks pretty cool!

Season trend :Colored pants!

For my days on campus I like to dress comfortably.  With the weather being unpredictable I have been wearing a lot of pant, short sleeve shirt, flats, combos.

White shirt pictures here, I got for my birthday from my parents.  I have a new obsession with colored pants.... the red pants pictured here I also got from my parents for Christmas which look like jeans but feel like leggings!  Glitter flats were bought by my Grandma (she is quite stylish) ay Macy's and jewelry is all from AVON from my mom.

Have a good day!!!!! Try this new trend of colored pants with a simple shirt for a fun comfortable outfit!!!!!

Easy, breezy, beautiful, day!

So today was another day on campus but at least it was nice and warm!  It is hard to decide what to wear because the mornings feel cool but it gets hot in the afternoon so I decided to go with a dress.  Jamie and I decided to get artsy and find some fun sculptures on campus!  My white dress was on clearnace from Kohl's paired with a brown little jacket which I actually wore for my senior pictures six years ago.....

My necklace was from my mom, who got it from Avon and I love the different pieces hanging down from it.   My mom has awesome taste and I think this necklace is so cute I just always forget to wear it!.  My headband was from Sea Jewels in Grand Bend, Canada where my family travels every year. Earings are from the same town in a little boutique.

Shoes are from Charlotte Russe (where I used to work).  I love finding flats there because I can usually pair them with anything!

Pop of Red

I bought this dress at Forever 21 two years ago and this is the first time I have worn it! I have left it in my closet longingly looking at it from time to time not knowing how to style it for a more casual occasion. Today I woke up and I grabbed off the hanger and voila! I wore my $10 red boots again and spiced the whole thing up with assorted black, silver and white bangles. I also added a bit of red lipstick as a nod to Mad Men (I can't wait until Sunday!!!)

Me playing with the camera settings, I think this looks a bit like a senior photo which made me laugh :)

Keep it simple stupid

Sometimes you don't need a lot of flair to put together an outfit. I spiced up a plain dress with three accessories: a necklace, shoes and a belt. I've been wearing these flats a lot lately. Although I was immediately drawn to them I was not sure if they would match my wardrobe or if they would be too flashy. Thankfully I was wrong!!I got the necklace for free when I bought another piece of jewelry on Etsy. All together they create a cohesive and simple ensemble.

Trendy nails!

The latest trend has been painting one nail on your hand different from the rest.  I'm not sure about everyone else but personally I like to have the odd nail out be my ring finger to show off my ring:)  For these trendy nailes I used dark purple nail paint in combination with leopard print stick polish.  I was a little apprehensive about trying this type of polish for multiple reasons;

1. Usually expensive
2. Not sure about the application
3. Whether they will stay on or not with my hectic life.

The directions included in the package were fairly easy to figure out.

The leopard stick-on polish came in strips which I found at Rue 21 for 99 cents!  I have seen similar nail strips at stores like Rite Aid, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.  for upwards of  $9.99 so I figured this was the cheaper version however, it ended up working out ok.  The strips were fairly easy to apply but did have a problem staying on which I solved by using clear nail polish.

I recently found the Sally Hansen brand (which I prefer and believe works better) on clearance for 2.50 for the solid colors.  I would definately suggest that brand especially if you are trying these for the first time.

I also spiced my nails up with my wrap bracelets which are another hot trend!

I'm not Irish but kiss me anyways!

So yesterday was St. Patricks Day which I am sure everyone is aware of.  I have been told I have issues on holidays with wearing too much of the themed color, so I tried to tone it down this year a little while still remaining cute!  Although the first half of my day was spent in the library, I was able to go out and have some fun but I missed Jamie!!!!! We have never spent a St. Patricks day together and I have a feeling we would have too much fun!!!!!

I am wearing my new St Patrick's day shirt with my new white pants which look dressy but feel like leggings!  A simple light green scarf to add a little splash of lime green, a sparkly headband, St. Patricks day bracelet and necklaces and green flip flops.  I also painted my nails and toenails green with sparkles!!!!!

My fiance, who I write about and figured I should share a picture of, is dressed to match me and the rest of the town of Mt. Pleasant with his fun St. Patricks day shirt, paired with khakis and flip flops he usually wears.  I try to get him to play around with fashion but I'm still working on that and will share my progress.

Me and Kitty in my apartment, his first St. Patricks day!!!!!
