Midnight Mayhem

If you know me personally then you must know how much I love owls, from my living room wall to my jewelry box you can find a vast assortment of owls. I was inspired by these feathered friends for a class project where I had to create a store with a consistent theme. I decided upon "Midnight Mayhem", I describe this idea as waking up in the night with weird things happening not knowing if you are dreaming or not. I thought of  Victorian Gothic themes as well as The Hound of the Baskervilles, Dark Shadows and Jane Eyre all as inspiration. For my presentation day I decided to dress as of I had shopped at my own fictional store.

Dressing up always makes me feel better!

So I have a couple photo shoots in the computer that I haven't posted yet, thats why my outfits don't exactly match the current weather....
.

Outfit pictured is a Mark by Avon dress, Target sweater, Old Navy wrap belt and scarf to add a little warmth, tights from Rite Aid, Boots from Walmart bought off season for $8.00 and leg warmers to insulate my always cold feet!

Wrap bracelets have been my most recent staple item.  I got the yellow one from Maruices for $3.00 and the pink one from Walmart.  They make every outfit look a little different!

I had a sinus infection that day so excuse the hair and makeup but dressing up always makes me feel better!!!!!

Hats off to you!

I love wearing hats. I think they are easy, quick, and are the best no shower cover up. That said sometimes it is hard to make a hat look professional and put together for any occasion. Here I paired a casual knit hat with a polo, vest and heels to class it up a little and try to keep my look from being too casual. I also added some new jewelry from Forever 21 that I snagged over spring break. This bauble ring almost looks vintage and is very unique, which is what drew me to it.

Outfit Details:
          • Polo: Old Navy
          • Vest: Given to me form my sister in law
          • Jeans: Gap
          • Hat: Urban Outfitters
          • Shoes: Glitter DIY here
          • Jewelry: Forever 21
Here is an up close view of my new jewelry finds
And finally Erica and I both wore glitter shoes on the same day!

78 Degrees and counting!

78 degrees in Michigan in March?! I'll take it. It was perfect weather to ditch work for a bit and go on a walk with Erica and Roxie. It was beautiful and seeing people flocking to the park was so nice.

Outfit Details:
        • Dress: Target
        • Sunglasses: Rayban, classics really
        • Jewelery: Assorted bracelets from my brother and a mood ring my dad found!
        • Flats: Crocs, these are super comfortable and surprisingly very cute!

And Roxie was obsessed with rolling around in the dirt and mud....of course

Comfy yet dressy!

Another day in the office and I want to be comfy but cute since I have to teach today.

This shirt was one of my best buys for only $1.97 from Old Navy!  The sweater I got for $10.00 from Target and the skirt I got for a Christmas gift from my parents.  I paired this outfit with a belt from Maurices for $6.00 and some boots shown previously from Sam's club ( I know random right?!).

Hair is messy but casual for a day at the office!

Spring Daze

Windows are open today. Even though I have to sit inside on my computer all day working it is nice to have the blinds and windows open with sunlight streaming in. It is amazing how improved your mood can be with a little bit of nice weather! Today I just couldn't get out of bed early so I threw my hair up grabbed a blazer and headed out. I HAVE to layer since the temperature is not consistent at all. Blazers seem to be the best outside layer for me lately, they make a sweater or dress instantly more put together, they are just so versatile!

Outfit Details:
        • Blazer: Forever 21
        • Sweater: Old Navy
        • Jeans: Gap
        • Boots: Target
        • Necklace: DIY from Walmart. I was wandering around when I found some pretty decent beads for cheap and snatched up this owl pendant and some chains to attach it to. Super simple and cute!

          • Boots: Target
          • Sweater: Forever 21, brand new and quickly becoming a staple
          • Necklace: Owl pendant made for me by my awesome friend Claire!
My friend Janeen was getting artsy with the photos....
Spring break is sadly over :( This was an outfit I wore for a day out shopping and eating with some girlfriends over the break. I can safely say that even though I didn't go anywhere over break it was one of the best i have ever had. Yes I would have rather have visited Florida to see my dad, but relaxing and doing whatever the hell I waned when I wanted to do it felt pretty amazing. Well back to the grind, Happy Monday!!
